Life Quote

:: Life is like a coin. You can spend it any way you wish, but you only spend it once. Circumstances and situations do color life but you have been given the mind to choose what the color shall be. Heal the past, live the present and dream the future. Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away. Live as if you were to die tomorrow and learn as if you were to live forever. So, make your life worth living! ::

I’m Gonna Show You, How Great I Am!

I came across this video a couple weeks ago in Youtube and fell in love with it.Personally, it is SO motivational. It combines quotes from Muhammad Ali, Rocky, and the movie Coach Carter (Our Deepest Fear by Marianne Williamson).

Basically, this video shows us that each one of us has to find our own inner strength to keep going no matter how hard life gets. We also need to see how great we can be. What I mean is, we need to be able to recognize our potential. We can accomplish so much if we do so. We can overcome anything, but we have to believe in ourselves.

We are what we repeatedly do.
Excellence then, is not an act, but a habit.
- Aristotle -

Video/Script Lyrics:

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate, our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure, beyond measure.
I'm gonna show you, how great I am.
Last night I cut the light off in my bedroom, hit the switch, and was in the bed before the room was dark.
I'm gonna show you, how great I am.

Only last week, I murdered a rock, injured a stone, hospitalized a brick,
I'm so mean I make medicine sick.
I'm gonna show you, how great I am.

This kids gonna be the best kid in the world.
This kids gonna be somebody better than anybody I ever knew.

I'm gonna show you, how great I am.
I have wrastled with an alligator, I done tussled with a whale,
I done handcuffed lightning, thrown thunder in jail.
I'm gonna show you, how great I am.
All you chumps are gonna bow when I whoop him, all of you,
I know you got him, I know you've got him picked, but the mans in trouble,
I'm gonna show you how great I am.

But somewhere along the line you changed, you stopped being you.
You let people stick a finger in your face and tell you you're no good, and when things got hard, you started looking for something to blame, like a big shadow.
Let me tell you something you already know, the world ain't all sunshine and rainbows, its a very mean and nasty place and I dont care how tough you are,
it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it.

You, me, or nobody, is gonna hit as hard as life; but it ain't about how hard you hit, its about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward, how much you can take and keep moving forward.
That's how winning is done.

Cause if youre willing to go through all the battling you gotta go through to get to where you wanna get, who's got the right to stop you.
I mean maybe some of you guys got something you never finished, something you really want to do, something you never said to somebody, something.
And you're told no even after you pay your dues, who's got the right to tell you that, who?
Nobody!

Its your right to listen to your gut, it ain't nobodys right to say no, after you earn the right to be where you want to be and do what you want to do.
Now if you know what you're worth, then go out and get what you're worth.
But you've gotta be willing to take the hits.
And not pointing fingers saying you ain't where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody.
Cowards do that and that ain't you!
Youre better than that!

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate, our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.
Your playing small does not serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine, as children do.
It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate, our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.

All you chumps are gonna bow when I whoop him, all of you,
I know you got him, I know you've got him picked, but the mans in trouble,
I'm gonna show you how great I am.

Let's Overcome Inferiority Complex Now!

Everyone is this world have their own weaknesses. Nobody's perfect so why you should embarrass with yourselves? It's not about how your feel your weaknesses but it's about how you deal with your weaknesses.

So now, what is Inferiority Complex? Basically, Inferiority Complex is a persistent feeling of being inferior to others in some way. It is usually connected with a real or imaginary shortcoming in physical appearance, intelligence, personality, education, social status or economic status. Overcoming an inferiority complex implies a set of key shifts in thinking:

  1. Realizing that any flaw you have is not as bad as you think;
  2. Realizing that having a certain flaw does not equal with not having any personal qualities;
  3. Realizing that all people have their flaws and most people have major flaws..

In order to overcome your Inferiority Complex, you have to:

 1) Admit it

Admit that you have the problem. Don't try to hide and give excuses. If you keep comparing yourself to others and think that people are bigger, better, smarter, etc. compared to you, you do have the problem.

2) Make the decision to change

Your view about yourself was created in your mind. In order to change your feeling of inadequacy and lack, change the way you think and see yourself in your mind's eye. Visualize yourself as a confident person because what you visualize is what you become. Create in your mind the image that you want to have.

3) Observe people

Don't compare but observe. Observe and watch how confident and assured people behave. See how they conduct themselves in the company of people. Watch how they move, speak and how they use their body language. Observe also how people respond to these people. You can learn a lot using this method.

4) Believe in yourself

Never mind what others have told you. You don't have to agree and make them yours. One of the ways to break apart your limiting beliefs is to question the truth in it. List down those limiting beliefs that have made you feel inferior and incomplete. Ask yourself if they are true. When you get the answers, question yourself further until you are convinced that you are more than you have set yourself to believe.

5) Fight your timidity

Conquer your fears of making mistakes and looking stupid. When the opportunity arises, show your mettle by voicing out your opinion, offering suggestions and solutions. The more you meet your fear head on, the better you become and your self confidence will increase. Look up at your own worth and respect yourself if you wish to gain it from others. Your self esteem will surely improve.

6) Change your posture and work on your appearance

How you dress will affect how you feel. Dress accordingly so that you can move around with ease and avoid any feeling of discomfort. Keep yourself fit, toned and healthy. Watch your posture, manners and body language. Your emotions will catch up with your actions. People will respond to you according to how you express yourself.

7) Find someone to model and change your environment

You developed the inferiority complex through conditioning and your upbringing. Find different role models to overcome your weakness. Instead of envying what the other person has, find out how she acquires the qualities that you wish to adopt. Learn from her and model her strategies and beliefs. Create better circle of friends and choose a different environment.

8) Acquire better knowledge and skills

If you have more knowledge and better skills, people will seek you for advice, opinions and information. Don't try to compete but to create. Do it because you want to become more proficient so that you can advance in life but not to be at par with anybody.

9) Take notes

Take notes of your daily interactions, attitudes and behavior. Reflect at the end of the day and learn from them. This will enable you to understand yourself better, adjust and make improvement.

10) Use subliminal messages

Your past mental programming brought about from upbringing, past influences and environment are imprinted inside your brain. It takes a lot of discipline and efforts to overwrite them. An easier and faster method to reprogram your past conditioning and overcome inferiority is to use subliminal messages.

Self Reflects

Finally, 'that' day has passed for good. No doubt, I wouldn't ever forget about it. 'That' day really taught me that one's life shouldn't be restricted to academic purposes only. Enjoy your life while you still can and share it with your relatives and friends that cares about you. Some secrets should always be secrets but some, better for us to share with.

Why it should be like that? It's simple; because we cannot live alone in this world. We can't hold all the burdens alone because eventually sooner or later, the overwhelming burdens that we're trying to hold ourselves will just get us troubles and become huge disasters that affect our life in the future.

Back to my story; basically, 'that' day happened all regarding to my previous AS examination results which I sat recently. I'm not gonna tell you my results back then but frankly, it's so terrible compared to my other friends. Well, its hard to say (quite complicated and frustrating ) but i believe Allah knows better what is the best for me back then. (Click here for related poem)

But hey, let the past be the past. There is a quote saying that:

"Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment."

Plus, I've found out in the Internet this motivational quote which interest me and quite easy to remember. Theoretically, this may be a relationship between past, present, and future in order to plot a Life-Time Graph of a human :)

Apart of it, 'that' day also helped me in answering questions in my mind that I couldn't solve it for many years (not all questions but still can be considered to be helpful).. For all this while, I always thought that I'm having personal problems related to an inferiority complex, but now I knew, fortunately i'm not a part of that group (really glad to know that :] ). I've to admit, I'm just spoiled by my own personality (well, that's what Puan Khairiah said to me)..

I'll talk about that later.. huh (-_-")a.

Well, now I know myself better, it's time for me to bounce back. There're still future waiting for me ahead and my final exam is months to go. InsyaAllah, i'll work hard this time to catch up as same rhythm as my friends in studies. When there's a will, there's a way. With lots of revisions, exercises, group discussion and practice to perform daily prayers on-time,  InsyaAllah, 15 points is not impossible for me to score and RMIT is not impossible either for me to pursue my study in the future.

Amin..

For those who experience inner problem like i mentioned earlier (not me :] ). Try some tips below to overcome your problems. From my point of view, these tips is NOT only restricted of those experienced inferiority complex, but ALSO applicable to those who want to motivate themselves (e.g. like myself especially) and to boost their self-esteem (e.g. be more confident, positive thinking etc).

First Step into Blog World

Alhamdulillah, finally I've got my chance to set-up my own blog and follow the flow of the time.

 (First, take a deep breath....)

Never thought i gonna say this but hey, now I'm here, in this vast world of blog! :) Officially, this would be my first blog post in my entire life. Gonna mark this special day in my calender (seriously??). (^_^)a

Nowadays, here and there (college, facebook, etc) people are writing blogs. I envy these people who never ran out of ideas to post (do they?). Well, as people always say, it's never too late to start something new! (remembering me of High School Musical : Start of Something New song).

Seriously, I hate to be left behind especially in technology. (although I'm still patiently using SE W660 instead of superb Galaxy S II.. he3)

*Sigh*
Past vs Future (i hope so..he3)

As for me, I write for my self-satisfaction. But still, for those out there, friends and friends-to-be, do follow if you want and feel free to give comments and rates.

The main reason i write in English is for me to improve my English plus my writing' skills. While reading, if you think my writing can be improve and rephrase in a better way, kindly leave comments. Sharing is caring, right?? By the way, don't worry as i do speak Malay.. :)

That's enough for now.
Till we meet again next time.
